BBCS confirms Wildbore in Lat Am role

BBC Studios (BBCS) has appointed one of its current executives as its permanent senior VP and general manager of its Latin America and US Hispanic division.

James Wildbore

James Wildbore has been in the role in an acting capacity since January and will report to Ann Sarnoff, president of BBCS in the Americas.

His remit includes overseeing the work of the regional teams as well as the general operations of the company in Miami, São Paulo and Mexico City.

Wildbore joined BBCS in 2016 as senior VP of finance and commercial operations for Latin America and the US Hispanic market and before that worked for BBCS in Asia.

“Throughout the past year, James has proven to be an extremely successful leader, whose understanding of an increasingly complex media landscape makes him the ideal person to grow our company in all these important markets,” said Sarnoff.

Previously, Wildbore served as VP of finance for BBC Worldwide (BBCWW) Asia, where he was responsible for both the development and management of financial strategies in that continent, as well as providing business, operational, managerial and business development plans for the company.

Before joining BBCWW (now known as BBC Studios), Wildbore held key positions at Disney and Universal in the film and media distribution area in London, Hong Kong and Singapore.
