BBC3 puts Drag Race S2 on start line

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK debuted on BBC3 late last year

Online-only channel BBC3 in the UK has confirmed the second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK will launch in early 2021, while casting for a third season has begun.

Produced by LA-based World of Wonder, season one of the drag queen competition series debuted on BBC3 late last year before quickly being renewed for a 10×60’ second run.

A third season has also been confirmed, for which contestant are now being sought.

RuPaul, the show’s producer and host, said: “Looking forward to better days! I’m happy to announce the triumphant return of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. Early in 2021, season two will arrive with all the hope, joy, laughter and glitter you’ve come to expect from our brilliant queens.

“We’re also currently casting season three with the best and the brightest Great Britain has to offer. We feel honoured that you’ve embraced our little show, and our only wish is that we can offer a smile at a time when we can all use it the most.”

Exec producing are World of Wonder’s co-founders Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato, with Tom Campbell, Sally Miles and Bruce McCoy.
