Stand-up comedian Luisa Omielan
BBC3 in the UK has ordered a special starring stand-up comedian Luisa Omielan from London-based prodco King Bert Productions.
What Would Beyoncé Do?! (1×75′), Omielan’s stand-up TV debut, will premiere on Valentine’s Day via online-only channel BBC3.
Shane Allen, controller of comedy commissioning at the BBC, said: “Luisa is a huge star in the making and this show is a real crowd-pleaser. Luisa spins a time of personal rejection into a riotous, uplifting comedy banshee cry.”
The show is being directed by Julia Knowles, produced by Sarah Fraser and executive produced by Jo Sargent (French & Saunders, Absolutely Fabulous, Miranda). The BBC commissioning editor is Alex Moody.
King Bert was set up in 2014 by comedians Miranda Hart and David Walliams, with backing from BBC Worldwide.
