BBC2 lines up Eric & Ernie special

1970s TV stars Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise

UK pubcaster BBC2 has ordered a special about British comedy duo Morecambe & Wise from ITV Studios-owned production outfit Shiver.

Eric & Ernie’s Home Movies (1×60’) will explore archive footage from comedians Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise’s home movie collections. The material, filmed in the 1950s and 1960s, chronicles the personal lives of the double act.

The special will be exec produced by Mark Robinson, exec producer and creative director at Shiver, with Ali Lynch set to produce. It was commissioned by BBC comedy controller Shane Allen and is scheduled to air on BBC2 over the Christmas period.
