BBC1 orders more Death In Paradise

Death in Paradise faced challenges shooting during the pandemic

BBC1 in the UK has commissioned another two seasons of Red Planet’s Death In Paradise, the crime drama set on Guadeloupe.

Season 10 was filmed entirely during the Covid-19 pandemic, with production postponed by three months and then accelerated in order to premiere this month.

Death in Paradise is shown in more than 230 territories and is distributed internationally by BBC Studios. It has now been greenlit for seasons 11 and 12.

BBC commissioning editor Tommy Bulfin said: “We’re really proud of Death in Paradise, offering some much needed escapism as well as compelling whodunnits and satisfying plot twists.”

Red Planet was founded in 2005 and will produce literary thriller Our House in 2021 as well as Death in Paradise.
