BBC1 okays pet lover show

UK broadcaster BBC1 has commissioned Cineflix Productions UK to make Help! My House is a Zoo, a one-off that follows extreme pet-lovers whose lives have been overrun by their animals.

Cineflix has also won a recommission from Channel 5 in the UK for an extended 6×60’ second series of Trauma Doctors.

Help! My House is a Zoo (1×60’, working title) was ordered by Alison Kirkham, head of commissioning features at BBC1 and BBC2, and Tanya Shaw, commissioning editor of factual features and formats. The format and completed show are being distributed internationally by Cineflix Rights.

The first 4×60’ series of Trauma Doctors was a ratings success for C5, with the first episode beating both Channel 4 and BBC2 in its slot and delivering the highest factual audience for the channel that year.

Trauma Doctors is exec produced by Jane Aldous and series produced by Suzy Davis for Cineflix. It was ordered by C5 commissioning editor Sam Raikes and is being distributed internationally at Mipcom by Cineflix Rights.

The deals come as Cineflix undergoes a restructure that will see a number of redundancies made in its distribution arm, and a relocation of its London base.
