BBC1 keeps Moving On with McGovern

New episodes of Moving On will air from March 8

UK pubcaster the BBC has renewed Jimmy McGovern’s drama series Moving On for a 12th season to air on BBC1.

Executive produced by McGovern, the show will return on March 8 for five episodes.

The series features dramatisations of real-life stories in which people’s lives have reached turning points. Topics covered previously have included sexual abuse, gig working and family ties.

The series launched in 2009 and has featured actors Neil Morrissey, Sharon Horgan and Mark Addy.

The forthcoming season will feature Kelvin Fletcher, Les Dennis and Atomic Kitten’s Elizabeth McClarnon making her acting debut.

Like the previous 11 season, the five new episodes were filmed on location around Merseyside. Filming took place during August and September 2020 under Covid-19 safety protocols.
