BBC Studios adds Armoza exec

BBC Studios (BBCS), the commercial arm of the UK pubcaster, has appointed a former Armoza Formats and Keshet International exec as VP of content sales for Latin America and US Hispanic.

Karina Dolgiej

Karina Dolgiej joins BBCS from Israel-based Armoza Formats, recently acquired by the UK’s ITV Studios, where she was responsible for US Hispanic and Latin American content sales and copros.

With 20 years’ experience in sales, content acquisitions, production and marketing, Dolgiej has also held roles including sales manager at Keshet International, director of sales at Zodiak Latino and producer at Univision.

At BBCS, Dolgiej is responsible for ensuring optimal distribution of the company’s content across broadcast and digital channels in Spanish-speaking Latin America and the US Hispanic market, as well as overseeing the sales teams in Miami and Mexico City.

The news comes two days after BBCS revealed it had hired former Netflix and Endemol Shine exec Rob Smith as general manager of its LA production business.

It also follows moves to bring BBCS’s international sales and distribution business together into a single distribution group helmed by Paul Dempsey.

In related news, BBCS has teamed up with US pubcaster PBS on a four-part series presenting views of natural and man-made events on Earth from space.

Life from Above premieres on PBS next week, with Jo Shinner exec producing, Chloe Sarosh series producing and Barny Revill series directing.
