BBC Scotland’s Law to head IWC factual

Banijay Group-owned Scottish production outfit IWC has appointed BBC executive Pauline Law as its new head of factual.

Pauline Law

Law joins from BBC Scotland, where she was head of multiplatform production from 2017, responsible for teams covering music, entertainment, events, digital and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.

Under her tenure, Law led a development team that won more than 80 new commissions, including Emeli Sande’s Street Symphony.

From 2013 to 2017, Law was executive producer for BBC Scotland Factual/BBC Studios Pacific Quay Productions, where she delivered a range of arts and music programmes such as BBC2 film The Marvellous World of Roald Dahl.

Her other roles at the BBC included arts lead at BBC Scotland, channel exec at BBC2/BBC4 and series producer at BBC Scotland Arts.

In her new Glasgow-based role at IWC – which is behind programmes such as Location, Location, Location – Law will oversee a slate of factual programming.

Mark Downie, creative director at IWC, said: “Pauline is a hugely experienced and highly respected programme maker with an especially impressive track record in music and arts. The fantastic range of programmes she has created and made makes her an ideal hire for our Glasgow office, at a time where there are numerous, exciting opportunities for programme making outside of London.”
