BBC, RTL investigate Scandi drama

The Investigation follows a murder inquiry in Copenhagen

UK pubcaster the BBC and German media group RTL have bought forthcoming Scandinavian crime series The Investigation from Fremantle prodco Miso Films.

The six-part series follows Copenhagen Police’s head of homicide as he investigates the murder of a Swedish journalist.

The Investigation is a copro between Fremantle’s Miso Films and Outline Film for TV2 in Demark, SVT in Sweden and Nordic Entertainment’s streaming service Viaplay.

The series is produced by Miso Films’ Jonas Allen, with Oscar-nominated Tobias Lindholm writing and directing.

Allen said: “It’s fantastic to continue this journey with The Investigation with the BBC and Mediengruppe RTL as our international partners. We now have a brilliant cast onboard who are working closely with Tobias to bring this unique story to the audience with their respectful and thoughtful performances.”

The series is currently in production in Denmark with support from The Danish Film Institute’s Public Service Fund and Copenhagen Film Fund. The series is distributed internationally by Fremantle.
