The untitled 6×30′ show will debut this autumn and will offer live performances, sketches and interviews with high-profile musicians.

Fulwell 73, which is behind CBS’s The Late Late Show with James Corden, has been commissioned by BBC content director Charlotte Moore and Jan Younghusband, head of commissioning for BBC Music.

Gabe Turner, partner at Fulwell 73, said: “The range of genres and different styles that people are listening to now is more diverse than ever before, and it’s a great time to be making a show that gives a mainstream TV platform to the most exciting stuff out there.”

Executive Producers for Fulwell 73 are Turner and Suzi Aplin, while Paul Wright will be the showrunner.

In related news, BBC3 has ordered a second season of mockumentary sitcom This Country from BBC Studios. The show, which follows the lives of two cousins livening in a Cotswold village, launched in February on BBC3 and on flagship network BBC1.
