BBC iPlayer gets 30-day approval

NEWS BRIEF: UK pubcaster the BBC is to extend the catch-up window for its iPlayer VoD service following approval from its governing body, the BBC Trust.

Programmes will now be available up to 30 day after broadcast, a window that previously stood at seven days. The move is part of the BBC’s plan to make the iPlayer its “primary digital entertainment destination” and was first outlined in October.
