BBC grabs rights to Lego's Little Robots

UK-based Lego Media, part of Danish toy manufacturer Lego Company, has inked a deal with BBC Worldwide to shop its debut kids' toon Little Robots.

Under the terms of the deal, BBC Worldwide has picked up exclusive distribution rights to the series including video, DVD, audio, music, books, magazines and merchandising.

Little Robots is a pre-school animation series produced for Lego Media by UK toon studio Cosgrove Hall Films. Currently in production, the first 52×10' episodes are due for delivery January 2003. The series has already been picked up by CBBC in the UK and ABC in Australia.

Vanessa Chapman, controller of programming and strategy at Lego Media and co-executive producer of Little Robots, said: {We were particularly impressed by BBC Worldwide's ability to operate as a 'one-stop shop' on the distribution and commercial management of other independently-produced properties, such as The Tweenies.{
