The role will see Julia Bond grow relationships with independent producers in the two countries and collaborate with the in-house production team in Scotland.

Based in Glasgow, Bond will work with Kay Benbow, controller of CBeebies, and Cheryl Taylor, controller of CBBC, to identify potential commissions and make recommendations to the channel controllers.

“We are delighted that a candidate of Julia’s calibre has secured this important role and we look forward to expanding the range of content from the nations,” said Benbow and Taylor in a joint statement.

Bond has spent the past 15 years at the BBC, working on CBeebies and CBBC productions such as Nina & the Neurons, Lifebabble and Teacup Travels. She has been an executive producer since 2011 and will take up the new role on March 1.
