Rediscovering T-Rex

The BBC in the UK, CBC in Canada and France Télévisions have come together to coproduce a documentary on the Tyrannosaurus rex.

Rediscovering T-Rex is being produced for the three pubcasters by UK factual indie Talesmith and Canadian producer Cineflix.

The doc is being launched for global distribution by Cineflix’s UK-based sales arm, Cineflix Rights, at Mipcom in Cannes next month.

The filmmakers aim to expose the myths surrounding the prehistoric creature over the one-hour doc, including inaccuracies and misrepresentations fuelled by feature films and lack of scientific understanding.

After hearing from experts and scientists around the world, the programme will then attempt to create the most accurate CGI representation of a T-rex ever produced.

The BBC version will be presented by naturalist Chris Packham, with scientist and broadcaster David Suzuki fronting the CBC version and the France Télévisions edition airing without a presenter on France 5.
