Banijay supplies crime to Nat Geo, UKTV

American Justice was created by UK indie Minnow Films

Broadcasters in the US, UK and Australia have acquired recent and forthcoming factual crime series distributed by Banijay Rights.

National Geographic in the US will air American Justice (3×60′), which was created by UK indie Minnow Films for BBC2 and has also been bought by SBS in Australia.

The series explores the justice system in the city of Jacksonville, dubbed Florida’s ‘murder capital,’ and premiered earlier this year in the UK.

True crime series I Married a Murderer, which tells the real-life stories of couples whose marriages end in murder, has been pre-sold to UKTV network Really.

Produced by Bellum Entertainment, the 104-episode series has also been picked up by Australia’s Foxtel for its C&I channel.

“Factual and true-crime content continues to be a strong performer for broadcasters and platforms worldwide,” said Tim Mutimer, CEO of Banijay Rights.
