Banijay shops Grosse Equipe library

UK-based distributor Banijay International is to represent French prodco La Grosse Equipe’s existing catalogue.

The deal includes entertainment and factual entertainment programming, while the companies will also work together on new formats developed for the international market.

La Grosse Equipe was established in France in 2005 by Thibaut Valès, Jérémy Michalak and Zumeo, and currently produces around 250 hours per year.

The company has primarily produced reality TV shows including Les Anges de la Télé Réalité, which is now in its seventh season for French channel NRJ12.

Other programmes created by La Grosse Equipe include scripted reality series Hollywood Girls, competitive reality show Friendstrip, panel gameshow Face à la Bande and documentary The Great Escapes.

The news comes as international production giants Banijay Group and Zodiak Media hold talks over a potential merger.
