Back2back taps IFA Media producer

UK indie Back2back Productions has appointed a producer from Singaporean firm IFA Media to a development role.

Scott McDonald

As senior development producer, Scott McDonald will focus on growing the Brighton-based company’s slate of returning brands and franchises.

McDonald was most recently a senior producer at film, TV and digital content prodco IFA Media. He has also held senior development and production positions at a variety of UK prodcos, including IWC Media, Dragonfly and Renegade Pictures, working on titles such as Car SOS, Extreme Fishing with Robson Green and Celebrity Botched Up Bodies.

His move follows a trio of recent production hires by Back2back. In November, Anna Boronat arrived as head of production, alongside new senior production executive Claire Hamilton and junior production executive Mitzi David.

In addition to announcing McDonald’s appointment, Back2Back has revealed a factual commission from multichannel operator UKTV’s Dave network. Mega Air (8×60’) investigates the world’s largest freight operators airports and carriers, exploring what it takes for them to deliver goods on time.

The show features exclusive access to airports on both sides of the Atlantic and is the sister series to returning franchise Mega Shippers. Distributed by Hat Trick International, the series will also air on Viasat World’s Viasat Explore network in CEE, Russia and the Nordics, and male-skewing Kiwi network TVNZ Duke. It is due to be delivered in June.

The commission follows up the December renewal of its factual series The World’s Deadliest… and Scrap Kings.
