Back2Back appoints executive trio

UK indie Back2Back has appointed a trio of executives as it goes into production on over 60 hours of programming.

Anna Boronat

The Brighton-based producer has appointed Anna Boronat as head of production, with Claire Hamilton taking up the post of senior production executive and Mitzi David moving into the role of junior production executive.

Boronat has over 20 years’ experience at companies including RDF, Shine, Firecracker and Fever Media, working on shows such as MasterChef (BBC1) and Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding (TLC).

Hamilton has held line producer and production manager roles at a range of production companies, including Fresh One and Keo Films. She began working with Back2Back as a production manager in 2016.

David has similarly worked as a freelance production manager on several Back2Back shows since 2016, including Mega Shippers for Discovery and Scrap Kings for Quest and Viasat.

David Notman-Watt, Back2Back’s founder and MD, said: “Last year was Back2Back’s most successful to date. We posted a turnover of £3.9m [US$4.99m] and this figure looks set to be beaten in 2018/19.”

The firm has a full-time staff of more than 50 and is currently in production on 61 hours of programming, with more under negotiation, much of which consists of second and third seasons of its core brands, the company said.

Recent projects include Stunt Science (10×60′) for Spike UK, which has been picked up by Netflix internationally in a deal brokered by Hat Trick International, and Crazy on a Plane (6×60′), which was produced in association with TCB Media Rights and is set to debut on Sky Pick on November 30.
