Day has oversight of the DreamWorks Animation, Hearst and Verizon-owned company’s international licensing, business and global distribution strategies.

She has helped steer the Gen Z original programming specialist’s partnership with Endemol Shine Beyond, launching local-language versions of US-based AwesomenessTV in territories including the UK, Spain, France, Germany and Brazil. Most recently the firm has forged a coproduction and distribution relationship with UK broadcaster ITV.

Prior to joining AwesomenessTV in 2014, Day was CEO of venture-backed Blip Networks, leading the company’s evolution from an online video platform for independent producers to a multi-platform media company.

At Blip, she forged numerous strategic partnerships with top Hollywood and independent studios, and digital distributors such as YouTube, AOL and Yahoo before steering the sale of the business to Maker Studios in 2013.

Before Blip, Day led the digital media and commerce businesses for Discovery Communications and held senior e-commerce roles at wedding media company The Knot and at AOL.

DreamWorks Animation acquired AwesomenessTV in 2013 for US$33m in cash and up to US$117m more dependent on performance targets, with Hearst subsequently taking a 24.5% stake in 2014 and Verizon following suit earlier this year, valuing the business at US$650m.

FutureMedia takes place at Picturehouse Central in London’s West End on November 30 as part of Content London, C21’s three-day celebration of the world’s best entertainment, which also encompasses the International Drama Summit.
