Asian Side of the Doc postponed

The seventh edition of international documentary market Asian Side of the Doc, scheduled to take place in China this March, has been postponed.

The event was due to be held in Suzhou, China

The four-day factual event, due to take place from March 21 to 24 in the Chinese water town of Suzhou, has been postponed for “local logistical issues,” according to event organisers.

The conference will take place at a later date to be decided and organisers have said they are “evaluating the best way forward to ensure a high-quality experience for attending delegates.”

“Given the growing interest shown by the international documentary community in the dynamic Asian factual market, we must be sure that Asian Side of the Doc keeps on providing a relaxed and friendly environment to foster valuable networking and business relationships with major players in the pan-Asian industry, ”said Yves Jeanneau, CEO of Sunny Side markets.

“The postponement is necessary to satisfactorily address the recent logistic difficulties encountered. Asian Side will keep the components that have made it a successful coproduction platform and doc sales market in Asia.”

This was due to be the third consecutive year the market has been held in China.
