Asian, Euro nets drive Food Truck sales

Broadcasters across Asia and Europe have picked up culinary series Food Truck Face Off from Canadian producer and distributor Peace Point Rights.

The 14×60’ series has been sold to Beep Omnimedia for Discovery Communications in Italy, Monaco and Switzerland, while LITV has acquired the show in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei and Thailand. It features four teams who compete to win their own customised food truck.

The Canuck company has also sold Bake with Anna Olson (40×30’) to Foxtel in Australia, New Zealand’s Food TV and Scripps Networks Interactive in Asia. The latter also picked up Fresh with Anna Olson (65×30’).

Meanwhile, the first two seasons of design show Colin and Justin’s Cabin Pressure (26×30’) have been sold to The Living Channel in New Zealand, while Frontier Vets (13×30’), about veterinary students running a clinic in South Africa’s Kruger National Park, will air on Chello Multicanal’s network Natura in Spain and across Africa, as well as on True Visions in Thailand.

The sales, which total more than 120 hours, also include In Space: 50 Years of Space Exploration (1×60’) going to VRT in Belgium, while Sky Network Television in New Zealand, Japan’s Wowow and Germany’s Lighthouse Films adding Takedown: The DNA of GSP (1×90’), about UFC fighter George St-Pierre.
