Asia banks Cineflix’s Instant Cash

Broadcasters across Asia have picked up shows from UK distributor Cineflix Rights ahead of Asia Television Forum (ATF) in Singapore this week, including Canadian gameshow Instant Cash.

Fox International Channels Asia has gone for the first two seasons of the Cineflix Productions show, which sees unsuspecting contestants compete for big money via a rigged ATM. The gameshow first aired on Canadian speciality channel TVtropolis in early 2011.

FIC Asia has also secured rights to the third season of Force Four Entertainment’s The Cupcake Girls (16×30’).

Meanwhile, Discovery India has acquired the third and fourth seasons of Food Factory (52×30’, Cineflix Productions), Redesign My Brain (3×60’, Mindful Media) and The Man Who Doesn’t Breathe (2×60’, Back2Back Productions).

Cineflix Rights has also sold Redesign My Brain to Now TV Hong Kong and the fourth and fifth seasons of Dogs With Jobs (26×30’, Cineflix Productions) to Indian broadcaster NDTV Goodtimes.

Other deals include Nippon Japan taking season seven of Border Security (2×30’, Seven Network) and GMA Philippines picking up Finestripe Productions’ one-off doc The Day Kennedy Died (1×60’)

All the deals were negotiated by Chris Bluett, Cineflix Rights’ VP of sales, Asia- Pacific and Benelux, who is attending ATF.
