Asia acquires Blue Ant crime series

Woodcut Media’s The Killer in My Family

ATF: Pan-Asian broadcaster A+E Networks Asia, linear channel True Visions in Thailand and Chinese SVoD service Huan Xi Shou Ying have picked up crime series from Toronto-based Blue Ant International.

A+E Networks Asia has acquired season five of Arrow Media and Saloon Media’s See No Evil (16×60’), which explores how real crimes are solved with the help of surveillance cameras.

True Visions in Thailand, meanwhile, has picked up the first run of Spring Films’ Prison. With exclusive access to UK men’s prison HMP Durham, the 3×60’ docuseries tells the stories on both sides of the cell doors from the perspectives of the staff and prisoners.

China’s Huan Xi Shou Ying has also licensed S5 of See No Evil and S1-2 of Prison, the second season of which shifts its focus to female offenders at HMP Foston Hall.

In addition, the streamer has picked up Cream Productions’ 2×60’ docuseries BTK: A Killer Among Us, which looks at the legacy of American serial killer Dennis Rader; Woodcut Media’s The Killer in My Family (6×60’) and Our Toughest Cases (6×60’); and S1-2 of Bob Brown Productions’ Fraud Squad: The Hunt (15×60’).

It has also acquired Spring Films’ How to Stay Out of Jail (1×60’), which follows an elite police team whose mission is to give criminals a once-in-a-lifetime chance to reform by joining a tough 16-week scheme, and Flint TV and Lambent Productions’ Women on the Force (6×60’).

The deals were concluded as this year’s digital version of the annual Asia TV Forum & Market gets underway today.
