Armoza uses CGI in lockdown quizshow

Beat the Grid uses CGI to create an impressive ‘set’

ITV Studios-owned Armoza Formats has launched an interactive gameshow as a cost-effective format that can be produced with minimal crew and studio facilities.

In response to production shutdowns around the world due to coronavirus, Armoza is pitching Beat the Grid to the international market.

The format sees a contestant go head-to-head with viewers and seek the correct answer in an ever-increasing grid of options. As the answer grid gets bigger, so does the cash prize.

Beat the Grid was created by Armoza Formats alongside Gamechanger and is branded as a fast, cost-effective format.

The format uses CGI to turn a simple set requiring few crew members into a big shiny-floor format.

Nimrod Harel, co-founder and CEO of Gamechanger, said: “We have seen a shift in the TV industry: budgets are getting smaller but the need for an expensive look is in higher demand, so we have developed a technology that overcomes this.”

Michal Itzhaki, head of content partnerships at Armoza Formats, said: “By combining our knowledge of the international industry with the unique technology and creativity of Gamechanger, we created a highly entertaining gameshow for a fraction of the cost – something that is greatly needed in these times.”
