Armoza steps up to the plate

Israel’s Armoza Formats has partnered with a local production outfit on a primetime format described as a combination of a gameshow and a cooking show.

The distributor is working with Israeli prodco Abot Hameiri on Yum Factor, which sees three contestants cook two of their favourite dishes for six jury members.

The cooks must guess which jurors like their dish the most after watching their reactions, although they cannot hear anything they say, with every correct guess worth money.

The cook who accumulates the most money throughout the show has the chance to take home all their winnings, or choose to risk everything for double or nothing by hearing whether the show’s star chef thinks their food has the “yum factor.”

The 60-minute show, which is launching at MipTV next month, comes after the two companies previously worked together on the dating reality show Love Lab and scripted reality series TLV.
