Armoza, JSBC show Can Do attitude

MIPCOM: A new shiny-floor primetime talent show co-developed by Armoza Formats and Chinese broadcaster Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation (JSBC) has been sold across Europe.

I Can Do That has been acquired for France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Germany and Norway in deals with international content companies Endemol, Banijay and Shine.

The format challenges eight celebrities to choose an act to master in a week before they perform it live, with viewers deciding who’s best.

The show came from a partnership between Armoza and JSBC to co-develop and distribution original formats. It also included JSBC’s studio reality format Celebrity Battle, which Israel’s Armoza will now distribute.

Lucy Liu Chen, director of programmes and formats at JSBC, called the development and distribution of entertainment formats “a strategic priority” for her company.

“We know that all broadcasters are looking for the next big thing in primetime entertainment, and we strongly believe that this is what we have brought to the market,” added Avi Armoza, CEO of Armoza Formats.
