Argonon launches two more prodcos

UK superindie group Argonon has joined forces with former BBC, Lime Pictures and NBCUniversal creatives to launch two more production companies.

Bandicoot’s Daniel Nettleton
and Derek McLean

Bandicoot, a multi-genre prodco, has been founded by Derek McLean and Daniel Nettleton with backing from Argonon.

Barefaced TV, which will focus on factual entertainment and feature formats, is being led by Rosie Bray and Lucy Golding.

McLean was previously executive VP and head of non-scripted for All3Media-owned Lime Pictures, overseeing series including The Only Way is Essex and Geordie Shore. Prior to that he was creative director at BBC Entertainment.

Nettleton was at NBCUniversal where he filled head of development and head of entertainment roles at various labels over a six-year period. He also spent time at BBC Entertainment before a stint with RDF Media and with presenting duo Ant and Dec’s production outfit Gallowgate.

Barefaced’s Lucy Golding
and Rosie Bray

Golding and Bray, meanwhile, met working on BBC3’s Snog, Marry, Avoid? series at Endemol in 2008. The pair previously founded indie Brassy while working at Spun Gold.

More recently they were joint head of entertainment at NBCUniversal’s development unit Tellcopter, working on formats Wedlocked and Meet Me Halfway.

The companies are the third and fourth joint ventures to launch under the Argonon umbrella.
