Apple lines up Byrne, Rogen comedy

Tech giant Apple has ordered a comedy series starring Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen from Sony Pictures Television for its Apple TV+ global streaming platform.

Co-written by Nick Stoller and Francesca Delbanco, Platonic is a 10×30’ comedy exploring the inner workings of platonic friendship.

Byrne and Rogen star as a pair of former best friends who met in their youth before later reconnecting as adults when they try to mend the rift that led to their falling out. As their friendship becomes more consuming, it destabilises their lives and causes them to re-evaluate their choices.

Stoller will also direct the series, for which Byrne, Rogen and Conor Welch will exec produce.
