Antenna rejigs top team for growth

Greece’s Antenna Group has restructured its senior management team as part of the company’s “growing ambitions” in both local and international markets.

Stratis Liarellis

Stratis Liarellis, previously MD at Antenna Television in Greece, has been promoted to the newly created role of executive director of group policy at Antenna Group and will be responsible for driving the company’s growth in Greece.

Liarellis’ remit includes identifying new business opportunities and diversifying the group’s Greek operations while also delivering local strategic direction.

Meanwhile, Antenna’s general commercial manager Tassos Michalakis has been promoted to MD of Antenna Greece, responsible for the company’s free-to-air channel ANT1 and the digital portfolio that includes recently launched SVoD service ANT1 Next, as well as OTT service Netwix.

Tassos will also be charged with identifying new opportunities within the digital space, as well as providing strategic oversight of the company’s operations in Greece and streamlining operations across linear and digital brands.

Tassos Michalakis

Earlier this year Antenna brought in a chief content officer for its commercial channel ANT1 as part of a strategy to expand its original digital content and international coproductions.

Antenna said the new structure reflects its “commitment to strategic international growth combined with regional innovation and development.”

Minos Kyriakou, founder and chairman of Antenna Group, died suddenly earlier this month after suffering a suspected heart attack.
