Animal Planet fills production role

Discovery-owned natural history network Animal Planet has promoted an executive to senior VP of production.

Erin Wanner is stepping up at the channel following a worldwide rebrand and the elevation of Susanna Dinnage to a global president role.

Wanner will continue to be based in New York and lead all the network’s production teams, working with internal exec producers and external prodcos on programming.

She is already exec producer on a number of Animal Planet’s flagship shows including Crikey! It’s The Irwins and Saving Africa’s Giants with Yao Ming.

Previously VP of production, Wanner has overseen series including The Zoo, Tanked, Treehouse Masters and Dodo Heroes.

Prior to joining Animal Planet, Wanner was an executive producer for Discovery Kids where her programmes earned nine Emmy Award nominations.
