Animal Planet catches YouTube’s Coyote

Animal Planet is developing a TV series with YouTube personality and wildlife educator Coyote Peterson.

The as-yet-untitled series will premiere on Animal Planet in 2019 and marks Peterson’s first long-form television show.

It will be produced by Wilderness Productions and will feature wild expeditions and rare up-close animal experiences as Peterson travels to new destinations seeking out fascinating, bizarre, and iconic animals.

He will be joined by his crew, which includes director Mark Vins and wildlife biologist Mario Aldecoa.

Peterson’s YouTube channel Brave Wilderness boasts 13 million subscribers, while he also released his first book, Coyote Peterson’s Brave Adventures: Wild Animals in a Wild World!, in 2017. His second, Coyote Peterson: The King of Sting!, will be released on November 27.

“Coyote is curious, fearless and very passionate about animals and animal conservation, inspiring a whole new generation of animal enthusiasts,” said Kurt Tondorf, Animal Planet’s senior VP of development.

“Producing a series for Animal Planet is a dream come true, and their global platform will allow us to proudly promote a message of education and a continued drive toward the conservation of countless animal species,” added Peterson.
