Angry Birds fly off with Cake

UK-based children’s outfit Cake has agreed a deal with Rovio Entertainment to represent the Finnish company’s Angry Birds animated series and its two spin-offs.

Under the agreement, Cake will add Angry Birds Toons, Angry Birds Stella and Piggy Tales to its catalogue and will be responsible for sales worldwide.

The first series based on the brand, Angry Birds Toons, made its debut online and on various TV channels around the world in 2013 on the back of Rovio’s huge success in mobile gaming and licensing.

New episodes of Angry Birds Toons and Angry Birds Stella are currently in production and will be released in September.

Rovio operates its own direct-to-consumer video channel ToonsTV via its apps, on which the series and various acquired animations are available to view for free.
