Ample bolsters producer ranks

US prodco Ample Entertainment has promoted one of its exec producers and hired a second as it looks to expand a factual and formats slate that includes Facebook’s 9 Months with Courteney Cox.

Sam Lang has been upped to creative director having previously co-executive produced projects including Cooper’s Treasure for Discovery Channel and Murder in the Heartland for ID.

Emmy-winning executive producer and showrunner Matt Blaine is coming on board as executive producer.

Lang will report to co-presidents Ari Mark and Phil Lott. He has previously produced for US and UK channels and production companies such as Channel 4, BBC, Shine, Firecracker, TwoFour, Renegade, Betty and RDF.

Blaine will join the current programming team, led by Alex Weresow, to oversee a production slate of close to 70 hours of programming that includes second seasons of 9 Months with Courteney Cox (Facebook) and The Lost Gold of World War II (History) and a third season of Murder in the Heartland (ID).

Prior to joining Ample, Blaine was executive producer and showrunner for A&E series Raising Tourette’s. He also executive produced True Life (MTV) and Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List (Bravo), winning Emmys for both.

The company also elevated Viviana Soto to director of finance and Sean Nugent to executive in charge.
