Ameba TV spawns YouTube deal

Canadian children’s VoD service Ameba TV has agreed a deal with ProSiebenSat.1-owned Studio71 for a package of the latter’s YouTube content.

The agreement will see 350 videos licensed from Studio71’s catalogue, drawn from YouTube channels such as Parry Gripp, The Gigglebellies and Michael Hickox Films.

Studio71 is a joint venture between German media group ProSiebenSat.1, French broadcaster TF1 and Mediaset in Italy.

“Shortform children’s content has proven to be enormously popular on our platform,” said Ameba CEO Tony Havelka.

“By licensing some of Studio 71’s immense library of high-quality content, we are bringing some of today’s most innovative and organic kids’ content to our rapidly growing service while providing a guaranteed revenue stream for the content.”
