AMC promotes to fill programming role

AMC Networks International (AMCNI) has promoted a top executive to senior VP of programming for AMC and SundanceTV Global.

Patrick Connolly

Patrick Connolly will be responsible for acquisitions, planning, global strategy and scheduling of linear and VoD programming, as well as promotion planning and on-air creative.

He will serve as executive producer on all film festival coverage for SundanceTV Global and will continue to report to Harold Gronenthal, executive VP of programming and operations at AMCNI.

Connolly, who joined AMC in 2011, was most recently VP of programming and scheduling at AMC and SundanceTV Global.

Prior to that, the exec worked as a scheduling and programming consultant at SundanceTV, following a stint at cablenet Showtime.

Connolly began his career at Fox, where he held various roles at Fox Kids, Fox Family and Fox Children’s Network, including director of planning and scheduling and executive director of programming and development. He then joined Fox Broadcasting, where he served as VP of children’s programming.

Last month, AMCNI in Central and Northern Europe appointed a country manager for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
