AMC, Polsat pick up from Passion

Back2Back Productions’ 5Spike series World’s Deadliest

NATPE BUDAPEST: Broadcasters from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) have been shopping at Passion Distribution, which has announced 130 hours of sales into the region.

The Tinopolis-owned UK distributor has confirmed several licensing deals for factual entertainment, lifestyle and documentary programming at the Natpe Budapest conference in Hungary today.

AMC Networks International has bagged more than 90 hours of factual entertainment and lifestyle for its Central and Northern Europe channels Spektrum Home (Hungary) and Spektrum (Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia).

Titles covered by the AMC deal include Back2Back Productions’ 5Spike series World’s Deadliest (13×60’) as well as The Weather Channel series Heroes & Survivors (8×60’) and SOS: How to Survive (14×60’).

Also in the AMC bag are Gusto series Where To I Do (16×30’), from Bell Media Studios and Motion Content Group, and Charlie Luxton’s Homes By The Med (12×60’), from True North Productions for More4.

In Poland, Polsat Café has picked up The Sex Clinic (6×60’), produced by Firecracker Films for E4 in the UK. Other titles heading to Polsat Café include documentary Price of Fame (10×60’), from AMS Pictures for Reelz in the US.

Another Polish net, TVN, has acquired Dr Christian: 12 Hours To Cure Your Street (10×60’), produced by Firecracker for UKTV’s W channel, for the TLC channel in Poland. Other titles for TVN include award-winning doc series Unreported World S6 (8×30’), produced by Quicksilver for Channel 4.

Elsewhere in CEE, Xsport in Ukraine has picked up 22 hours of droid combat contest Robot Wars. The series was produced by Mentorn Media, SJP Media and BBC Studios for BBC2 between 2016 and 2018.
