AMC Networks in the US has expanded the role of SVoD president Miguel Penella, adding AMC+ to the portfolio of streaming services he oversees.

This means Penella now leads Acorn TV, Shudder, Sundance Now, UMC and AMC+.

AMC+ brings together content from AMC Networks’ suite of premium brands, including original series from AMC and its sister channels. The service is currently available to Comcast Xfinity, Xfinity Flex, DISH Network and Sling TV customers.

Penella joined AMC Networks following its 2018 acquisition of RLJ Entertainment, where he was CEO.

The news comes a day after AMC revealed it had promoted development executives Carrie Gillogly and Emma Miller to the new positions of co-heads of scripted series.
