AMC calls back Saul for fourth run

US cablenet AMC has renewed Breaking Bad prequel Better Call Saul for a fourth season.

Better Call Saul follows attorney Jimmy McGill in the years before Breaking Bad

The new run of the drama, coproduced by Sony Pictures Television and AMC Studios, will air next year.

Vince Gilligan, Peter Gould, Mark Johnson, Melissa Bernstein, Thomas Schnauz and Gennifer Hutchison exec produce the show, which stars Bob Odenkirk.

Better Call Saul follows small-time attorney Jimmy McGill as he hustles to make a name for himself, before he took the name Saul Goodman and became involved in the events depicted in Breaking Bad.

Breaking Bad ended after five seasons on AMC in 2013 having won 10 Emmys and becoming one of the most-watched shows on cable TV. It also spawned a Spanish-language remake called Metastasis.
