AMC brings in Manzano for international

AMC Networks has hired a former Hoodlum Entertainment and Dynamic Television exec as its VP of international programming.

Noel Manzano

Noel Manzano is joining the US-based broadcast group to identify and develop original content with creative talent around the world, and to work within the AMC Networks Entertainment Group to move existing projects forward.

He will report to Kristin Jones, executive VP of international programming and programming innovation.

Manzano was most recently director of development for Hoodlum Entertainment, where he ran the company’s US content development slate and strategy and drove internationally produced projects. Prior to this role, he worked in film acquisitions for iflix, was director of acquisitions for Dynamic Television and served as a creative executive at Sierra/Affinity.

“At this moment of content expansion and competition, I’m excited to join a company and a group of networks with such a rich history of compelling storytelling and driving the medium forward,” Manzano said. “I can’t wait to be part of finding and developing the next great series for AMC, SundanceTV and BBC America.”

The appointment comes amidst a period of upheaval in the AMC senior exec ranks with Marco Bresaz promoted to the role of executive VP of nonfiction and alternative programming, replacing Eliot Goldberg who is stepping down.
