AMC adds to Connolly’s int’l role

AMC Networks International (AMCNI) has expanded the role of senior executive Patrick Connolly.

Connolly will serve as senior VP of programming and marketing for AMCNI following the promotion.

He has worked at AMCNI since 2011, most recently as senior VP of programming for AMC and SundanceTV Global, a role he has held since 2018. Before that he was VP of programming and scheduling at AMC/SundanceTV Global.

In his new role, Connolly will oversee marketing activities for the AMC and SundanceTV global brands alongside AMCNI’s regional brands and channels in more than 130 countries.

Connolly will also continue to lead on-air creative and programming activities for AMC Global and SundanceTV Global. His current role also requires him to serve as executive producer of all film festival coverage for SundanceTV Global. Connolly will remain based in New York reporting to Harold Gronenthal, executive VP of programming and marketing.

“Patrick is a skilled media strategist with key insights into the content industry across programming genres,” Gronenthal said. “He has been instrumental in expanding the company’s efforts in offering award-winning programming to global audiences.”

Before joining AMCNI, Connolly worked as a scheduling and programming consultant with SundanceTV and Showtime.

He began his career in programming at Fox and held various roles at Fox Kids, Fox Family and Fox Children’s Network, including director of planning and scheduling and executive director of programming and development.

Connolly joined Fox Broadcasting as VP of children’s programming.
