Amazon’s Remix to play worldwide

Global streamer Amazon is set to air an Indian version of Turkish distributor Global Agency’s music format The Remix.

The Indian edition of the show will begin streaming worldwide on Amazon Prime Video on March 9.

Created and produced by India-based Greymatter Entertainment, The Remix sees DJs and vocalists pair up to compete for an album deal with a major recording label, in addition to a cash prize.

Other countries the show has been sold into include Indonesia, China, South Africa and Vietnam, according to Global Agency.

Amazon’s growing slate of original reality shows in Asia Pacific also includes Jestination Unknown, Comicstaan and the recently announced Skulls & Roses.

In related news, Amazon will launch its adaptation of The Dangerous Book for Boys from Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston and Superbad director Greg Mottola worldwide next month.

The family entertainment series is an Amazon Studios production with Sony Pictures Television and Moonshot Entertainment. It is based on the book by Conn and Hal Iggulden, which focuses on two brothers coming to terms with the death of their inventor father.

All six episodes of the show, which features an array of advice and tips, such as how to fish and how to to juggle, will made available exclusively to Prime Video subscribers on March 30.

Cranston and Mottola created the series and wrote the first two episodes ,with Mottola directing and Michael Glouberman (Malcolm in the Middle) as showrunner. Cranston, Mottola and Glouberman serve as executive producers alongside James Degus (Sneaky Pete).
