Amazon has agreed a pact with Lionsgate to be the UK’s first-window streaming home for the studio’s recently released and upcoming theatrical feature films.

The multi-year deal, which begins on January 1, will enable Prime members in the UK, or those subscribing to the monthly standalone Prime Video service offer, to access Lionsgate’s Hollywood and UK blockbuster movies.

These will include Knives Out, Midway, Bombshell, Angel Has Fallen, Rambo: Last Blood and Lionsgate UK’s The Personal History of David Copperfield.

The Lionsgate titles join Prime Video’s library of thousands of TV shows and movies, including UK-produced originals such as Good Omens, The Grand Tour and All or Nothing: Manchester City.

“It is a great new collaboration with an important content partner in the worldwide arena, underscoring the breadth and depth of the Lionsgate slate,” said Jim Packer, Lionsgate’s president of worldwide television and digital distribution.

The deal builds on Amazon and Lionsgate’s existing relationship in the UK, where Lionsgate-owned OTT network Starz Play is offered via Amazon Prime Video Channels.
