Amazon Studios picks up Toronto movie

Blow The Man Down centres on two sisters in a Maine fishing village

Amazon Studios has secured worldwide rights to feature film Blow The Man Down, prior to its international premiere at the Toronto Film Festival.

The movie, which will be made available to Amazon video subscribers, was created and directed by first-time filmmakers Danielle Krudy and Bridget Savage Cole.

It tells the story of two sisters who attempt to cover up a crime, only to uncover many other secrets in their fishing village in Maine.

The film is a coproduction between Secret Engine and Tango Entertainment, with Drew Houpt and Alex Scharfman producing for Secret Engine and Tim Headington and Lia Buman for Tango Entertainment. Albert Berger, Ron Yerxa and Lucas Joaquin are executive producers.

Blow the Man Down stars Morgan Saylor, Sophie Lowe, Margo Martindale, June Squibb, Will Brittain, Gayle Rankin and Annette O’Toole.
