The as-yet-untitled Spanish-language docuseries is in production and will premiere later this year exclusively on Prime Video around the world.

The 8×30’ series depicts the daily life of the football star, showing what it takes to be an elite player, including private moments shared with his family.

Georgia Brown, director of European Originals at Amazon Prime Video, said the show would be “a fantastic addition to our Prime Video programming slate in Spain. We’re sure our customers will love seeing Sergio in these unique and private moments on and off the field.”

“I’m excited to be able to show football fans what it takes to be a professional athlete, the responsibility of wearing Real Madrid and Spain’s armband and how to juggle that with a normal personal life,” Ramos added.

The streamer has been expanding its sporting programming over the past 18 months, ordering Make Us Dream about former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard and a biopic on the life of Argentinian football legend Diego Maradona.

Last year it also secured a package of 20 live English Premier League football matches for the next three seasons and struck a far-reaching sports deal in Germany with Discovery Communications in 2017 that provides subscribers with access to Eurosport’s live event programming, including exclusive Bundesliga football matches.
