LOL: Last One Laughing will see Santiago Segura lead a cast of fellow Spanish comedians as they see who can keep a straight face while simultaneously trying to make their opponents laugh in a competition for a grand prize of €100,000 (US$117,000).

Set to launch in 2021 around the world, the series follows versions in Japan, where it originated and is hosted by Hitoshi Matsumoto; Mexico, hosted by Eugenio Derbez; and Australia, hosted by Rebel Wilson.

In Spain, the series will be showrun by Miguel Martín and produced by Banijay-owned Endemol Shine Iberia.

María José Rodríguez, head of Amazon originals in Spain, said: “There has never been a show like this before in Spain, and we think Prime members are going to love seeing Santiago and the amazing comedians go wild and test each other’s limits in the pursuit of laughter.”
