Amazon preps toon from BoJack creators

Amazon Studios has greenlit an adult animated show for its Prime Video platform to be made by the creators of Netflix hit BoJack Horseman.

Undone is co-created by Bojack’s Raphael Bob-Waksberg and Kate Purdy and produced by former Disney CEO Michael Eisner’s Tornante Company. Noel Bright, Steven A Cohen and Tommy Pallota will executive produce alongside Bob-Waksberg and Purdy.

Dutch artist Hisko Hulsing (Montage of Heck) will oversee the production design and direct a team of animators working in the Netherlands. The animation will be done with Dutch coproducer and Amsterdam-based studio Submarine and Austin studio Minnow Mountain.

Undone is a half-hour animated dramedy that explores the nature of reality through its central character, Alma, set to be played by Rosa Salazar (Alita: Battle Angel). Angelique Cabral (Life in Pieces) is also set to star.

The series is in pre-production and expected to premiere in 2019 on Prime Video in more than 200 countries. The announcement was made by Sharon Yguado, head of scripted series at Amazon Studios.
