All3Media sells to Discovery, BBCWW in Asia

The F Word

Discovery and BBC Worldwide (BBCWW) have picked up a raft of factual content from the distribution arm of production giant All3Media for their channels in Asia.

BBCWW has picked up pan-Asian rights to more than 40 hours of factual and factual entertainment content, including Studio Ramsay’s The F Word USA (11×60’), the US version of the UK cooking competition series.

The adaptation was commissioned by Fox and, like the original, is fronted by chef Gordon Ramsay.

The commercial arm of the UK pubcaster has also taken Asian rights to the fourth season of All3Media-owned Optomen Television’s Kitchen Nightmares USA (13×60’), which follows Ramsay’s attempts to transform underperforming restaurants, and season five of All3Media America reality series Undercover Boss USA (15×60’).

Discovery, meanwhile, has picked up 24 hours of Optomen’s cookery-themed content for its linear platforms in Asia, including Worst Bakers in America, which was originally produced for Food Network in the US.

The six-part series sees 12 struggling bakers drafted in for a baking boot camp under the guidance of chefs Lorraine Pascale and Duff Goldman.

Discovery in Asia has also landed two seasons of long-running Food Network series Worst Cooks in America.

Continuing the theme, All3Media has secured a pan-Asian deal with Scripps Network for six-part series Gok Cooks Chinese, originally produced by Optomen Television for Channel 4 in the UK.

Scripps in Asia has also renewed All3 food lifestyle series Matilda & the Ramsay Bunch (Studio Ramsay and Objective Media Group for CBBC, UK), acquiring the third 15×15’ season of the show that offers insight into Ramsay’s daughter Matilda’s life with a celebrity father.
