All3Media secures Hong Kong sales

PCCW has picked up When I Grow Up for its ViuTVsix channel

Hong Kong free-to-air broadcaster TVB has picked up a package of factual content from All3Media as part of a raft of sales to the territory by the UK production and distribution group.

TVB has acquired the rights to five series and specials, including two-part documentary Drowning in Plastic, which was originally produced by All3-owned prodco Raw TV for UK pubcaster BBC1.

Two lifestyle titles have also been picked up by the broadcaster: The Big Fat Lies About Diet & Exercise, a two-hour doc from All3-owned North One Television, and Eamonn & Ruth’s How to Get a Good Night’s Sleep, from Spun Gold TV and Motion Content Group. Both shows were originally produced for Viacom-owned UK terrestrial Channel 5.

Additionally, TVB has added two culinary-themed titles, both of which are produced by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s Studio Ramsay. Gordon, Gino & Fred’s Road Trip (3×60’) and Gino & Fred’s Festive Feast (1×75’) were made for UK broadcaster ITV and feature Ramsay alongside fellow celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo and First Dates maître d’ Fred Sirieix.

Meanwhile, fellow Hong Kong-based operator PCCW has picked up four shows from All3Media. These include two other Studio Ramsay titles, Gordon Ramsay: 24 Hours to Hell & Back (8×60’), which originally aired on Fox in the US, and four-part docuseries Born Famous. Both programmes will air on PCCW’s English-language channel ViuTVsix.

In addition, PCCW has taken the first three seasons of Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners (21×60’) and the fifth and sixth runs of The Undateables (10×60’). Both shows were originally made for the UK’s Channel 4 by All3Media-owned prodco Betty.

Another C4 show, When I Grow Up, produced by fellow All3-owned prodco Optomen Television, has also been acquired by PCCW.
