All3Media names Pastore US CEO

Tim Pastore, the former president of original programming and production at National Geographic Channel, has resurfaced as CEO of All3Media America.

Tim Pastore

Pastore oversaw development, programming and production across the US and UK at Nat Geo for four years prior to his departure in May. He is credited with launching the channel’s feature focs strand under the National Geographic Documentary Films banner.

While there he helped to oversee a transformation of the factual-focused channel under CEO Courteney Monroe’s ‘fewer, bigger, better’ programming strategy, which led to series including One Strange Rock and The Story of God with Morgan Freeman. He was also responsible for in-house television production until National Geographic Studios.

He replaces Greg Lipstone as CEO of All3Media America, which has offices in LA and production companies Optoment and Lion in New York.

Lipstone departed, along with chief operating officer Dan Donahue, in January having succeeded Eli Holzman as CEO in 2015.

All3Media America’s slate includes the long-running Undercover Boss for CBS, United Shades of America for CNN, Chrisley Knews Best for USA and 24 Hours to Hell and Back with Gordon Ramsay for Fox.

The company is the US arm of All3Media, the Discovery- and Liberty Global-owned production and distribution business comprising 28 prodcos mostly in the UK and US.

Overall All3Media CEO Jane Turton said: “Tim’s reputation as a business leader and his track record as the creator and producer of high-quality and popular TV is incredibly impressive.”

Pastore, who had stints at Discovery and BBC Worldwide prior to Nat Geo, added: “The opportunity to work with a global leader like All3Media and its expansive roster of inspiring creatives and companies is an honour. I am excited to join Jane and her stellar team as we lead the All3Media America family into a new phase of growth. Across the group is a tremendous range of artistic and commercial vision, creating the ideal space to foster innovative programming.”

Pastore will start his new job on October 1, reporting to Turton.
